Printing supplies ultimately determine the success of a printing solution. Care must be taken to select the optimal materials for each specific printing application. The importance of properly maintaining a printer with quality parts is vital. American Barcode and RFID (AB&R) can make sure that a mission-critical printer provides mission-critical results.
Choosing the right printing material is a very important process. The most intricate data collection system can be brought to a standstill if the label or tag is unreadable or unclear. AB&R Media Specialists have been applying printing stock to a diverse range of applications for over 20 years. From tagging trees to jewelry and from labeling circuit boards to stone, AB&R has the knowledge and experience to optimize your printing application. Listed below are different types of direct thermal and thermal transfer materials available:

A ribbon is used in the thermal transfer and dye-sublimation process as the "ink" that writes to a printing facestock. It is imperative that the appropriate ribbon be paired with the right facestock to achieve the highest quality print. Thermal transfer ribbon types include wax, resin, and a combination of wax and resin. Card printer ribbons utilize both thermal transfer and dye-sublimation processes.
Thermal printers experience wear like any other equipment. However, unlike most companies in the AIDC industry, when repair is necessary AB&R uses only NEW OEM parts. AB&R has a wide variety of premium printhead selections, ensuring the highest quality printing for the life of the printer.
With Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and the U.S. Department of Defense leading the push in 2004 for RFID labeling compliance for all of its suppliers, the RFID labeling of products is becoming the new standard. American Barcode and RFID is one of the first AIDC solution providers who has been certified to provide RFID solutions. Ask AB&R about RFID and how it may work for your organization.
Many large applications require the purchase of a combination of labels, tags, and ribbon. AB&R provides custom value kits that match those items to any specification and then deliver them when needed. AB&R Value Kits ensure that the right printing supplies get shipped at the right time, every time.
